Strong First Half Propels the Roadrunners to Victory

With over 400 total yards of offense, the Roadrunners took down the North Mahaska Warhawks 47 to 6. The Roadrunners were galvanized by strong performances by running backs Sam Bedwell, Andrew Morris, and Alex Middleton. Middleton, a sophomore, had over 100 yards on only four carries on the night. The ground game was balanced out by almost 100 yards passing through the air with Tommy Bregar doling out a touchdown pass to Tanner Bean on the second play on offense and Briar Vogel for the last score of the first half that pinned the Warhawks back 33 to 6 right before intermission.

A hard-hitting Interstate defensive core held North Mahaska in check most of the night. Among the hard hits, freshman defensive back Zach Goering recorded his first interception of his high school career. The Roadrunners look to improve their record to two and zero this Friday at their first home game against an undefeated Southeast Warren Warhawk squad.
